Meet Us
Generations embody the dynamic talent of a mother-and-daughter duo, boasting a collective experience of over three decades in the realms of singing and performance. From little beginnings to bigger things, their diverse experience allows them to perform a variety of genres and offer something unique at every performance.
With roots in amateur dramatic societies, both Yvonne and Zoe have graced stages across diverse musicals, plays, and the occasional pantomime, captivating audiences of all ages.
Yvonne, the matriarch of the duo, nurtured Zoe’s passion for the arts, laying the foundation for her daughter’s remarkable journey in singing and performing. A member of the Crawley Operatic Society during the 1980s and 1990s, Yvonne showcased her prowess in iconic roles within celebrated musicals like My Fair Lady, 42nd Street, and Carousel.
Following in her mother’s footsteps, Zoe embarked on her own artistic voyage, joining the same society in the 1990s and even reprising Yvonne’s role in Carousel, two decades later. Their love of Musical Theatre has also allowed them to perform not only in the UK but aboard with trips to Germany and Hungary entertaining the locals.
As the owner of My Special Event, Zoe’s affection for music and theatre burgeoned from a young age ignited during her early performances at The Capitol Theatre. Her academic pursuits in Theatre Studies coupled with her involvement in numerous choirs and productions testify to her unwavering commitment to the craft.
Over a decade ago, Generations was born—a musical collaboration that has graced myriad social gatherings and charitable endeavours. Notably, their co-hosting and performance at the Charity Fundraiser, “Music Makes Memories,” proved instrumental in raising substantial funds for Dementia Support, amassing over £932.00 in donations.
Looking ahead, Generations endeavours to champion philanthropy by hosting an annual charity event and contributing to various causes within the local community and beyond.
Versatility epitomizes their musical repertoire, ranging from classic show tunes to contemporary hits spanning pop, rock, and country genres. Their dedication to musical excellence is evident in the recording of two studio albums in Tunbridge Wells and weekly rehearsals to continually enrich their catalogue.
